Personally, on a real world shoot I have never had an issue with sharpness on any of the Rokinon’s that I’ve used, but at the same time I have noticed that wide open they will be slightly softer, just like almost any other lens. As with any camera brand, those from Rokinon/Samyang usually have to compromise on something, be it weight, build quality, or price point. If you don’t want to invest in all four right away, the two most useful focal lengths would be 24mm and 50mm in my opinion. – Rokinon Cine (16mm) 32mm T2.2 $399.00 Both choices are great and you really can’t go wrong… I think it just comes down to the way you like to work best. Unlike Rokinon lenses which are housed in plastic, the Veydras are all metal and feel just as well built as cinema lenses many times their price. The Rokinon/Samyang lenses are in fact full frame lenses so they will definitely work on a Sony A7S. Good question… I haven’t tried to match them with many other lenses, but generally speaking Canon glass isn’t too far off.
