It was hand-built by Darren Hippner in his Point Roberts, Washington workshop. This guitar is modelled on the Antonio de Torres (1817 – 1892) model FE17 of 1864 (see Antonio De Torres, Guitar Maker: His Life and Work (Yehudi Menuhin music guides) which logs all known surviving Torres guitars).
